How to Master Reset or Hard Reset a Blackberry Curve 8520 series

Blackberry 8520

To perform a master reset or a hard reset on your BlackBerry Curve 8520 you will need to reset to factory settings. Many issues can be solved by doing a mere factory reset.

Factory Reset

On your BlackBerry 8520 goto:

From the main screen of your Blackberry curve 8520, you would click on Options then scroll down to Security Options then choose General Settings click menu and choose wipe handheld

Once the device has fully rebooted, all prior information should be
erased from the device and it should be restored back to the default
factoy settings.

Also can try:

Press and Hold the alt key, right shift/caps lock key, and del key. Pay attention that it is the shift key on the right. Just Hold the key combo until the LED light turns red and the screen locks. You will see that the reboot process will begin.

NOTE:
Performing a Master Reset / Hard Reset on any Cell phone will Factory
reset and clear your phone, erase completely including
contacts, pictures, videos etc. A factory reset cannot be undone and you should be certain this is what you want to do.

  2. I recently purchased a blackberry 8520 on pay as you go and i am having difficulty setting up my Email account.

The first time I switched on the phone, the automatic setup wizard opened, and enabled me to choose the option of either '' i want to create or add an Email address'' or ''i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server''. I clicked on the second option but after realised this after the setup was complete, that the option was for coporate customers and I am an individual user.

I attempted to reset again by the setup wizard in order to add my Email Address. But when I Returned to ' set up an Email Address'' the only option to choose from was the one with the ''Blackberry Enterprise Server''. I've tried to access the Email option through it, but it requests an enterprise activation password, which i do not have.

I was wandering whether you could help me go back to the original settings of the blackberry and reboot it ( i have already done the wipe handheld, still the problem persists) or could you please help me find an alternative way to set or add my Email to the phone.

  12. i got my blackberry curve 8520 for boxing day last year 2010,
i had quite a few difficulties with it,
my gprs wouldnt work either my apps.Anyway, i had dropped it into the bath about 3 months ago, my phone has recovered from the water damaged and I got a new battery as that was water damaged condtionally.
My blackberry keypad does not work, and my scroll pad only works as I am stuck on the home screen and I can only scroll left to right, I cannot select a programme to chose like my messages, all I can do is scroll left to right and my keypad doesn't work either just the space bar and then it comes up with the letter 'n'?This has happened to me before and it's just happened to me today, the last time it happened to me it was fine within 2 days. I am just curious why this is happening to my phone?
I read blackberry forums about this situation but they tell me to take it apart and clean it with alcohol and then it should work. I don't know whether I should do this or not? I do not have insurance on it so I can't get it fixed.
I tried the hard boot/reset & the soft boot/reset, and they both don't work. I am a little confused to what is happening with my Blackberry Curve 8520. I don't know if it's my whole phone itself's or just a regular problem as it's happened to quite a few people.
Does anyone have any soloutions or suggestions I could try, without taking it apart?
    Please contact me!

    Thanks,
    Charley.

  13. i think that the water damage messed up your phone. The master reset on your blackberry curve probably cant solve your problem as your board is most likely damaged. it can take some time for the board to get eaten away.

  16. I am having problems with my BB 8520. I have been using this handset for the last 18 months and of lately the battery comletely discharges and even after a full charge it lasts only for 8 Hrs. Sad part is when it shows 2 bars in the battery level. It suddenly turns to red and discharges very rapidly. I have replaced a new battery and the problem continues to persist. Pls suggest if doing hard or soft reset will help. I have taken back up via the download manager. Does it back up the password keeper as well ??

I was also advices to enter wrong password but sometime entering wrong password may be a wrong decision as it can Lock your Sim card
